Katia Coelho born and raised in Paris 9 is based in Lisbon,Portugal.

Graduate of the Sorbonne Nouvelle with a degree in modern literature, art and expression she was an art director and fashion editor for 17 years in Paris and co-founded the art and fashion magazine Dealer de luxe  which she directed for 12 years.

In 2014, she made a 180° turn and moved to Lisbon where she successively experimented with ceramics and textile arts.

Embroidery is her principal artistic expression by imagining abstract panels which, like the Rorschach test, allow the mind to travel and explore the projection of the imagination based on a proposed association of colors and textures.

Her main sources of inspiration are the decorative arts, geometric abstraction, Kinetic art and organic architecture.
